At Wild Birds Unlimited of Eugene “We Bring People and Nature Together…and We Do It With Excellence.” Our family-owned specialty retail store offers products, services and gifts for people who love…or are just beginning to explore…the hobby of backyard bird feeding.

We bring enthusiasm, curiosity, professionalism, informed advice and superior customer service to our interactions with our wonderful customers. Our staff are all experienced bird-feeding experts…though we’re all continually learning more…and we love to talk about birds and our customers’ observations, excitement and any issues or problems they need to solve.

Our 5-year-old, steadily growing, high-ranking store, seeks a store manager to help us get to the next level.

We are looking for someone with great retail, mentoring and service skills. Working at your locally-owned Wild Birds Unlimited store is an opportunity to support and educate our friendly customers about birds and nature. Our goal is to provide quality products, great service and expertise, and a high-energy shopping experience.

The Store Manager will work with fellow associates, including the store owner, to bring to life the store’s mission—“We Bring People and Nature Together®… And We Do It With Excellence!”

Overview of requirements for qualified candidates. We would love to hear from people who have:

·      3- 5 years of retail / customer service management experience

·      Minimum of 5-7 years in retail or customer service

·      Eager to support a culture of creativity, collaboration, fairness, and teamwork

·      Entrepreneurial mentality with experience in a sales-focused environment

·      Exceptional team-building capabilities, including coaching, developing, and mentoring team members, with strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills

·      Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to make decisions and manage changing priorities to directly impact our organizational and financial goals

The right candidate will be given on-the-job training by the owners to learn the business, then will assume responsibility for overseeing the provision of an exceptional customer experience, store operations and sales generation; oversight of our 5-8 staff members including coaching, training and management; administrative control, marketing*, loss prevention and store maintenance.
